Each Fall and Spring 12-week programs culminates in a GOTR 5k run/walk, which are held in December and May. The 5K event, which is open to the public to watch and participate in, includes many family members and friends who come together to support the girls as they strive to cross the finish line.
The race is always a special day for the girls. They participate in a variety of kid-friendly activities before both and after the race, as well as along the course. All participants receive free food/drink, a race t-shirt and a goodie bag. All registered Girls on the Run program participants receive free entry to the GOTR 5k that season.

Location: Sawyer Point
Cost: $15.00 prior to 11/10/08, $20 prior to 11/20/08, $25 on race day
Feel good AND help a great cause! The Fall GOTR 5k will serve as the end of season race for our Girls on the Run program. We welcome all runners and walkers of every age and ability to join us for this fun event!
All 5k runners and walkers will receive:
- GOTR race t-shirt
- Goodie bag with coupons and samples
- Chance to win various raffle prizes
- Ability to join over 300 pre-teen girls in their first 5k accomplishment!
NOTE: There will be a clock at the start/finish of the race, but runners will be responsible for their own individual timing results. All children will recieve a GOTR medal when they cross the finish.
