Girls on the Run is always looking for community volunteers who are willing to contribute their time and talents. Following are several opportunities:
We're always looking for enthusiastic coaches to motivate, educate and inspire Girls on the Run program participants during the 12-week sessions. Head coaches and assistant coaches are needed during the twice-weekly, one-hour sessions. Our coaches have one thing in common - a desire to make a difference in a young girl's life by preparing them for a healthy adolescence and adulthood. Become a Coach today!
A running buddy is paired with a Girls on the Run participant to run by her side on race day, encouraging her to do her best and strive to achieve her goals. Over the course of the 12-week program, the girls incrementally increase their stamina and distance to prepare for running the 5K race. At the 5K race, the Running Buddy is there as the girls pushes herself to reach a huge milestone. Become a Running Buddy today!
Help is needed on a continual basis in the office during our busy program seasons or at special events throughout the year. Special events typically take place during evenings and weekends. Help us out on an as-needed basis!
We are currently looking for interested individuals who are willing to join one of Girls on the Run's committees. Right now we have openings for development, marketing and PR, and help with Team Tiara, our charity running program. Join a committee!
Twice a year, we need hands-on, enthusiastic volunteers on 5K Race Day in December and May. Race day volunteers help with everything from registration, goodie bag distribution, fun and games before and after the race, water stops and much more. Race Day volunteers also have some of the best views at the race to watch nearly 500 girls cross the finish line of their first 5K Race. It's truly inspirational to watch their accomplishments. Become a Race Day Volunteer today!

"So thanks much for your help! Girls on the Run has given my daughter the confidence and the quiet self-assurance of a person who knows, deep down, that they are alright just the way they are."

“I wish Girls on the Run was a mandatory part of the 3rd grade curriculum. The life skills the girls learn through this program are vital to their security and well-being.”
