GOTR Cincinnati

5K Poster Artwork Contest for Our Official Fall 5K Poster!

Text reads Fall 5K Poster Art Contest inside a cloud. Watercolor background, rainbow, stars, hearts and a pencil all appear to be hand drawn.

Girls on the Run Greater Cincinnati is hosting a 5K Poster Artwork Contest for our official Fall 5K Poster!

Is your girl an aspiring artist or curious creative? We invite her to use her star powers of imagination to dream up a design that will be on display for our community this fall. You girl does not need to be a past participant in GOTR’s programs. She just needs to have a willingness to celebrate all things girl power in a 2D format!

This contest will run from now until August 15th with one winner announced the week of August 22nd. Anyone who enters the contest will receive a token of appreciation while the top three designs will win BIG PRIZES!

Eligibility:

Girls up to age 14. Prior program participation not required.

Submission requirements:

Artwork to be submitted by August 15 via postal mail to Girls on the Run – 4760 Red Bank Rd. Suite 218, Cincinnati, OH 45227. Mailing via a manilla envelope with the artwork flat is preferred. Please include your girl's name, age, mailing address and phone number with her submission.

Artwork must be 8.5x11” two-dimensional only. Mixed media is eligible, as long as artwork is able to be scanned via a copier. If the artwork is created digitally, please submit a high resolution .jpeg or .pdf to info@gotrcincinnati.org with the subject line '5K Poster Artwork.'

Final artwork will become property of the council. Winner will receive a framed poster of the final product.

All artwork must be original – you cannot use third-party artwork or materials in your work. This means that you cannot use any image or text that was created by someone else (especially if it is trademarked or restricted by the original artist). Artist must submit artwork rights to Girls on the Run Greater Cincinnati. Artist’s name and age will be displayed on the poster.

The winner’s artwork will be incorporated into Girls on the Run’s internal graphic designer’s final poster design.

*Please refrain from using words like “race” or “winner” in the design. Our non-competitive 5K encourages community support, individual accomplishments, and a celebratory vibe!

How will a winner be chosen?

One 1st Place Winner will be announced the week of August 22, though 2nd and 3rd Places will be recognized as well.

The Girls on the Run Greater Cincinnati staff and 5K Committee will pick their top three entries and assign points to each – 5 points for 1st place, 3 points for 2nd place, and 1 point for 3rd place. The highest points win; in the event of a tie, the Executive Director will pick the winner.

Prizes:

1st place – framed poster, Girls on the Run swag bag, social media and newsletter promotion, and $75 Target gift card

2nd place – social media and newsletter promotion, $50 Target gift card

3rd place – social media and newsletter promotion, $25 Target gift card

Any artist who submits an entry will receive a mailed token of appreciation for your efforts.

Best of luck to all. If you have any questions, please email info@gotrcincinnati.org. Thank you!
