Make-Up 5Ks for GOTR Participants

Dear Girls on the Run Spring 2023 Community,

As my letter on Monday stated, we appreciate your understanding and feedback regarding Saturday’s 5K cancelation. Since then, our council has received many generous offers to support the girls in having a proper end-of-season celebration. THANKS TO ALL who are looking out for our girls and wish to play a role in acknowledging their achievements!

Our staff has been heartened to see the many teams who quickly pulled together resources to host their own site-based 5K, instead. The creativity and flexibility of our girls, coaches, and guardians are admirable!

We’re excited to announce we’ve created a few options for participants of GOTR's Spring 5K that will allow for truly honoring and celebrating every girl who participated in the Spring 2023 season!

Opportunity #1:

Girls on the Run Greater Cincinnati is offering each girl, coach, and registered community participant a one-time free entry into our Fall 2023 5K to be held on Saturday, November 18 at Yeatman’s Cove. Please look for an email within the next 10 business days with your unique code for a free entry. Note - each participant must create a new and separate registration from the current Spring 5K event to this new event.

Registration must be submitted by 10/18. Registration after that date will require payment of the registration fee. Codes are non-transferable and may only be used once. If you do not receive the email by 5/30 or have questions, please call 513-527-5051. It is not uncommon for our system emails to go to a junk or spam folder.

Opportunity #2:

Secondly, Queen City 5K, part of the Queen City Foundation, graciously offered to accept any participant from our Spring 2023 Celebration into their 5K on Saturday, July 22. Event details are located here. The Queen City 5K is an initiative born out of the Queen City Foundation's Alumni and Parent Association. Their goal is to bring the Greater Cincinnati Community together and raise scholarship dollars for area high school seniors as well as support programming to help them reach their goals for the future. In turn, the foundation promotes a healthy lifestyle for families by engaging in a fun-filled 5K race.

To register, look for your email from GOTR on 5/18, and use the discount code provided there when prompted for payment. Please be aware, this code is also unique to Spring 2023 5K participants and can only be used by girls, coaches and others who were previously registered for GOTR’s 5K by May 12. The Race Director has received a list of all eligible participants from the GOTR season and will cross check registrations accordingly.

Again, we are so humbled by the support of our community. Our hope is that you and your girl are able to take advantage of one of these options in the coming months. We look forward to future celebrations at the finish line and beyond!

Please reach out with any questions.

With gratitude,

Annie Horn
Executive Director
